This Cookie Policy explains how Mono Training Company uses cookies and similar technologies on this website, why we use them, and the choices available to you. It's written to sit alongside our Privacy Policy, and includes a dedicated section on the rights that apply if you're visiting from the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom.

01

About This Policy

This website is operated by Ian Jan, trading as Mono Training Company ("we", "us", "our"), ABN 15 109 727 714.

Mono Training Company is based in Australia. We work with clients and visitors around the world, including within the EU, the EEA, and the UK. Where this policy refers to those regions, it is describing the additional rights and consent standards that apply under the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, "GDPR") and the ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC, as amended — the "Cookie Law"), in addition to the protections we already provide under Australian law.

02

What Are Cookies (and Similar Technologies)

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They're used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. This policy also covers similar technologies that do the same job, including local storage and tracking pixels embedded in scripts.

Cookies are typically grouped by how long they last:

  • Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period, or until you delete them.

And by who sets them:

  • First-party cookies — set directly by mono-training.com.
  • Third-party cookies — set by a service we've embedded, such as HubSpot or Cloudflare.
03

Categories of Cookies We Use

We group the cookies on this site into four categories:

CategoryPurposeCan you decline?
Strictly necessary Required for the site to function — security, load balancing, and basic navigation. These don't identify you personally. No — the site won't work correctly without them, so consent is not requested for this category.
Functional Remember choices you've made, such as quiz progress, so you don't have to re-enter information. Yes
Analytics & performance Help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read, where people drop off — so we can improve it. Yes
Marketing Used by our CRM to recognise returning visitors and understand which content leads to enquiries. Yes
04

Cookies In Detail

The table below reflects the tools currently embedded in this website. It will be updated as our tooling changes.

ProviderCategoryPurpose
Cloudflare Strictly necessary Security, bot mitigation, and content delivery for this site.
HubSpot Analytics & marketing Recognises returning visitors, associates form submissions (including quiz results) with a contact record, and measures which pages lead to enquiries.
Click or Flick quiz Functional Holds your in-progress quiz responses locally so your results can be calculated and displayed to you.
Google Fonts Functional Loads the typefaces used on this site. This involves a request to Google's font servers, which may log your IP address; it does not set a cookie.

We don't currently run third-party advertising cookies (e.g. remarketing pixels). If that changes, this table will be updated before those cookies are switched on.

05

Legal Basis & Consent

For visitors in Australia, our use of cookies and similar technologies is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, as set out in our Privacy Policy.

For visitors in the EU, EEA, or UK, the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR require a different standard: cookies that aren't strictly necessary may only be set with your prior, informed, opt-in consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Strictly necessary cookies don't require consent, but we still tell you about them here for transparency (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f), legitimate interest).

In practice, that means visitors from these regions should be shown a cookie banner before any functional, analytics, or marketing cookie is set, with a genuine option to accept, decline, or customise by category — not just a notice that dismisses on scroll. Consent should be as easy to withdraw as it is to give.

06

Managing Your Preferences

You can control cookies in two ways:

  • Our cookie banner — where shown, lets you accept, decline, or choose which categories to allow. You can change your choice at any time from the link in the site footer.
  • Your browser settings — every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, including from specific sites. Because this works at the browser level, it applies beyond just this website.

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site — including the Click or Flick quiz — from working correctly.

07

Your Rights (EU/EEA & UK Visitors)

If you're located in the EU, EEA, or UK, the GDPR gives you the following rights over personal data we hold about you, including data collected via cookies:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, including analytics.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw cookie consent at any time, as easily as you gave it.
  • Lodge a complaint — with your local data protection supervisory authority, if you believe we haven't met our obligations.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 10.

08

International Transfers

Mono Training Company is based in Australia, and some of the service providers listed in section 4 may process data outside your home country, including in Australia and the United States. Australia does not currently hold a European Commission adequacy decision, which means it is not automatically recognised as providing an EU-equivalent standard of data protection.

Where we rely on cookies that involve a transfer of data outside the EU/EEA/UK, we do so on the basis of your explicit consent, and — where applicable — the standard contractual safeguards offered by our service providers (such as HubSpot's own data processing terms). You can find more detail in our Privacy Policy, or contact us directly with questions about a specific transfer.

09

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, including as our tools and integrations change. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and, where required, we will seek fresh consent before any new non-essential cookie is introduced.
